The reason for this page

Hi there I am a type 1 diabetic and I have used a finger prick blood testing monitor for about 15 years.

Through out this time I’ve suffered on average around 500 hypoglycemic episodes per month, just over 60% of them being admitted to hospital.

I am currently using a libre sensor it’s £50 per box there’s 1 in a box and I use 2 per month so that’s £100 per month, I have been using the libre sensors for about a year and I have been having around 1 or 2 hypoglycemic episodes per week while using the sensors and the phone application that will inform my loved ones and my diabetic nurse when I have an episode.

The libre sensors are a life saver and I am unable to use the sensors due to funding issues because of current world events

It may not seem like much money to spend per month, let me assure you it is for me I am it a tough situation in life where I am just trying to survive,i understand during these testing unprecedented times its a struggle for the majority of us and we will get through this though time.

Healthy Weeknight Meals

Cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day. It’s often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
